Anne P. Scott, age 88, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2012 at Satchell's Christian Retirement Home in Caro. Anne was born September 17, 1923 in Iron Mountain, the daughter of the late Jay and Genevieve (Engibous) Cook. In addition to being a homemaker and mother, Anne was a Registered Nurse, having completed nursing school at the University of Michigan. She served her country during WWII as a 2nd. Lt. in the US Army. After returning to civilian life, Anne was a nurse at a number of area hospitals, with the majority of that time spent at Caro Community Hospital. On August 30, 1947, Anne was united in marriage with Morris Scott in Iron Mountain. He preceded her in death on January 7, 2009. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro and enjoyed scrapbooking, crosswords, traveling throughout the world, and reading.
Surviving Anne are three daughters, Diane Scott of Caro, Linda (E. North) Coleman of Ortonville, and Peggy Scott-Kurzyniec of Attica; a daughter-in-law; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Anne was preceded in death by one son, Paul Scott; a son-in-law, Tim Kurzyniec; and a sister, Jeanette Cook.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dennis Kucharczyk officiating. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Fairgrove with military honors. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Monday from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM and on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM.
