Lucille M. Schriber, age 95, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2012 at St. Mary's of Michigan in Saginaw. She was born on May 11, 1916 on the family farm on Unionville Road, the daughter of the late Calvin Murray and Laurel (Colling) McCollum. Lucille was a graduate of Unionville High School. On July 15, 1939 Lucille was united in marriage with Elmer N. Schriber in Caseville. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1986. Lucille was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Caro for more than seventy years. She enjoyed china painting and getting together with her ladies club friends, the "Alphabets."
Lucille is survived by one son and his wife, N. Lynn & Karen Schriber of Caro; two grandchildren and their spouses, Brian & Annette Schriber, Kara & Greg Festian, all of Caro; five great-grandchildren, Haley, Kent, Morgan and Cole Schriber and Nicklas Festian, all of Caro; two half-brothers and their wives, Larry & Kay McCollum, Dale and Nancy McCollum, of Caro, and Betty Kinney of Millington; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Lucille was preceded in death by one brother, Merle McCollum, and one sister, Zelda McCrea.
The funeral service will be held at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. Burial will follow at Almer Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home on Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the First Presbyterian Church of Caro Memorial Fund.
